Here We Go!

Oh goodness!  I hope the gratuitous picture of the baby helps make up for the poor picture quality!   Yes, it's true, this is my first blog post ever - and it's going to be a brief one - room for improvement, yes?

Just over two years ago my husband gave me Dorie Greenspan's, Around My French Table, for a birthday gift.  I found the group, Tuesdays with Dorie, almost immediately and joined...and began cooking with all of you.  Always resolving to start that blog...and then, having two babies, and then...life moves on I guess.

But then Alice had this great idea for a cookie exchange - and I took it as a sign!

So, off my cookies went to Susan of Create Amazing Meals, and in came the beautiful package you see in the photo above.  Jessica of My Baking Heart really outdid herself with her Valentine Funfetti Cookies - these were really perfect for our family.  Under the cookies was another treat - two Chocolove bars!  The packaging was so beautiful I almost didn't want to open them...almost, I got over that and the cookies were gone in approximately 48 hours.  So, there you have it - and I present to you, Valentine Funfetti Cookies.

Valentine Funfetti Cookies
from Jessica of My Baking Heart

2 3/4 C all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 C unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 C granulated sugar
1 lg egg
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 C red & white sprinkles

Preheat oven to 375.  In a small bowl, whisk together flour, soda and baking powder; set aside.  In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.  Beat in egg and vanilla.  Gradually blend in dry ingredients, then stir in sprinkles.  Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place on parchent paper lined baking sheets.  Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.  Move to wire rack to cool completely.
